Lancaster Consortium of Evidence-Based Clinical Services Efforts have started to form the Lancaster Consortium of Evidence-Based Clinical Services. Membership in the Consortium will be open to counseling entities in both the public and private sectors. The centerpiece of the consortium is a certification based on a set of published standards. These standards follow established behavioral research guidelines and principles and must include an objective quantitative measure of treatment effectiveness. It is assumed research designs will include both quantitative and qualitative measures. Consortium members must meet published standards that indicate they engage in formal outcomes research activities and use the results of this research to improve the services they offer. All research efforts are subject to review prior to the granting of membership and reviewed biannually. A copy of the standards can be obtained by clicking here. Once established, consortium members in good standing will be prominently displayed on this website to serve as a resource identifying independently verified evidence-based counseling services. Other announcements and promotions will encourage the public to specifically seek out members of the consortium as their first-choice for professional counseling services. Counseling practitioners and agencies seeking support in their outcomes research efforts are encouraged to contact our office at 717-394-3994 or by email at Consortium@Advanced-Counseling.com.
