Who Is This Group For?

The Healing Techniques Intensive is designed for adults who want to build real, usable coping skills for the ways trauma can show up in daily life. You might be dealing with intense or uncomfortable emotions, struggling to set boundaries or say what you need, being hard on yourself, or getting caught in negative thought patterns that are difficult to shake.

Over five focused weeks, the group works on the areas that matter most for recovery: managing trauma symptoms, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, self-compassion, and cognitive reframing. Whether you're already in individual therapy or looking for a first step, the group offers structure, practice, and support from people who understand.

What You'll Gain from a Skills Group

  • Tools for Uncomfortable Emotions: Learn to notice, name, and ride out difficult feelings without being swept away by them, so emotions become information rather than emergencies.
  • Healthier Boundaries and Communication: Practice saying what you need, saying no without guilt, and protecting your energy in relationships at home, at work, and with family.
  • Self-Compassion: Trauma often leaves behind a harsh inner critic. The group introduces ways to respond to yourself with the same understanding you'd offer someone you care about.
  • Cognitive Reframing: Learn to catch unhelpful thought patterns and look at situations from a more balanced, realistic perspective.
  • Sustainable Self-Care: Build daily habits around sleep, movement, nourishment, and rest that support your nervous system instead of draining it.
  • A Long-Term Coping Plan: Leave the group with a personal toolkit of coping skills and a plan for using them well after the final session.
  • You're Not Alone: Hearing from others facing similar struggles reduces isolation and shame, and shows you new ways to put skills into practice.
